Barnsley Domestic Violence Group
Database
The scope of this project was to implement a ‘system’ having an IT component, which could be used to record incidents of Domestic Violence (DV) in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The project would monitor and analyse trends in DV within Barnsley (e.g. “are younger women victims of DV more than they were 18 months ago”). The scope did not extend to developing a case management tool.

UNICEF
Child Protection Database
In August 2007, UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, commissioned Illuminaries to carry out a scoping exercise to write a Concept Paper and Systems Requirement Specification for a national, multi-agency Child Protection Database. The project was undertaken by Illuminaries director, Dr Tony Bennett accompanied by Jim O'Rourke, a social worker from Leeds Social Services with child protection expertise.
